Growing U.S. Support to Assist Medical Debtors
A Poll conducted by the University of Chicago and Associated Press-NORC recently found that more Americans support forgiving medical debt than student loans, with over half of respondents in favor.

The poll found that support for forgiveness is especially high when a patient has experienced fraud or hardship. However, some people believe that everyone is responsible for their own medical bills. Is the U.S. Falling Behind?
As many Western countries provide universal healthcare for their citizens, many advocates for debt forgiveness cite this as an opportunity for the United States to catch up to the global standard. As the United States spends more on healthcare per capita than any other nation, those in favor of debt forgiveness say that no one should require donations or declare bankruptcy because of a medical bill.
