KEY POINTS

In this segment of Lifequakes, hosts Patricia Wu and Jessica Reyes dive into dealing with gender stereotypes in the workplace. Women’s Well-Being Advocate, Charlotte Lewis, joins the discussion with some advice for navigating these uncomfortable attitudes.

Defying Industry Stereotypes

Lewis shares how alarming it is that women still have to deal with these experiences in 2024, attitudes that should have been dismantled generations ago. In order to continue the fight against stereotypes we must not give them any power over us. Look past those ideas, focus on yourself, and credit yourself for who you are.

Knowing Your Worth

Some people can think you are unqualified or incompetent just because of your gender, but you know the truth. Whatever job you have, you have for a reason. List all of the reasons you are qualified for a job; your work experience, education, anything; and keep that as a mantra if anyone says otherwise.
