“To Mom is To Love”
Being a mom is an exhilarating rollercoaster of love and joy, but it can seem like a constant balancing act, juggling work and family responsibilities. That’s why Valerie Probstfeld created To Mom is To Love; a parenting podcast dedicated to moms supporting, encouraging, and empowering others throughout everything that comes along with motherhood.
The Rollercoaster of Motherhood
Probstfeld joined host Jessica Reyes, discussing her role as a mother and what led her to create the podcast “To Mom is To Love.” Probstfeld describes preparing for motherhood like an exam that she was going to be quizzed on, but nothing could’ve prepared her for her child being taken to the NICU five minutes after becoming a mom.
Mom, As a Verb
While the word is mostly thought of as a noun, Probstfeld says she prefers it as a verb. “To mom” is defined as “to allow one to rise and to care for and protect,” and while she says she loves her title as “mom,” it isn’t her only title. As a title, there is a lot of pressure and expectations as a mom, but as a verb, it’s how one lives their life.
