A Community United
A Delaware teen with autism is back on the road thanks to the kindness of strangers. After his bikes were stolen from his home, the teen’s mother reached out to the Friends of Fusion Foundation, the non-profit that had provided the first bike. Without hesitation, the organization agreed to replace it. The theft significantly disrupted the teen’s routine, as he struggles to walk for extended periods. Although adjusting to the new bike took a little time, he’s now enjoying exercise and social interaction once again. The heartwarming story was discussed by Patricia Wu and Jessica Reyes with Dr. Cortina Peters.
The Power of Random Acts of Kindness
Acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the lives of teens with autism. For individuals who may face challenges with social interaction and communication, a simple gesture of goodwill can foster a sense of belonging and acceptance.
