KEY POINTS

Regular Exercise

Consistent movement is crucial for maintaining health and longevity, even into your eighties and beyond. Rabbi Brandon Gaines stresses how important it is to get moving and it doesn’t have to be through the gym. He uses an example of a retired surgeon in his hundreds, who always chooses to mow his own lawn.

Healthy Eating

A diverse and balanced diet can greatly impact your chances of living a longer, healthier life. Gaines says you can do this through being mindful of your purchases and making your plate colorful. Having variety in your diet is important and you can talk to a dietitian to come up with a plan that works for your lifestyle.

Managing Stress

Balancing stress is important for your overall well-being and some of the things we worry about aren’t worth the mental toll. Gaines says to take on only what you can and leave the rest for another day.
