KEY POINTS

People in small, non-industrialized communities around the world report being super happy, even though they don’t have much money. This seems to back up the phrase, “Money can’t buy happiness.”

It makes you think, doesn’t it? Here in the U.S., we tend to focus a lot on having the latest gadgets, the biggest houses, and the fanciest clothes. But are those things really making us happy?

Maybe not.

Maybe happiness is more about the experiences we have, the connections we make, and the communities we build.

Maybe it’s about enjoying nature, spending time with loved ones, and finding joy in the simple things.

Hosts Patricia Wu, Jessica Reyes, and guest Dr. Cortina Peters discuss that having money isn’t a bad thing. It can definitely make life easier. But if we’re not careful, we can start to believe that more money equals more happiness, and that’s just not true.

So, what can we do? Let’s focus on building meaningful relationships, exploring new places, and trying new things. Let’s create memories that will last a lifetime, not just piles of stuff.
