MHTN and Zeam Plan to Collaborate on Efforts that Drive Awareness Around Mental Health Hygiene within Local Communities, Especially Those with Less Accessibility to Resources
October 11, 2024—Mental Health Television Network (MHTN), a revolutionary streaming network committed to transforming the conversation around mental health, is now available on Zeam, the streaming service connecting viewers with local content in the cities and towns they care about most. Mental Health Television Network offers a compassionate and stigma-free platform featuring original programming, insightful resources, and a nurturing community. With over half the U.S. Population, or 169 million people, living in mental health professional shortage areas according to a December 2023 analysis by the Bureau of Health Workforce, Zeam provides not only an opportunity for MHTN to reach a wider national audience, but also to connect people living in these local communities with resources through the 300+ local broadcasters that are available on the platform.
Kieran Clarke, CEO of Mental Health Television Network said, “Mental health is as much a global issue as it is a local issue. We understand that for our network to inspire real change, we need to connect effectively with people in local communities. That is why we decided to build this relationship with Zeam. Zeam has incredible partnerships with local broadcasters and content creators and understands hyperlocal like no one else. We are looking forward to coming onto the platform and collaborating with them in new and exciting ways.”
Jack Perry, CEO of Zeam, said, “What the team at Mental Health Television Network has built around this universally important issue is amazing. Our platforms share similar values in that we both deeply care about connecting viewers with the issues and communities they care about, and we believe through working together that we can truly make an impact.”
Mental Health Television Network, which is the first ever 24/7 streaming brand dedicated exclusively to mental health news, education and resources, aims to be a CNN-like destination for mental health. The platform also brings together people seeking mental health information and the practitioners and organizations within their local communities that are there to help. At launch, Zeam viewers will be able to stream content available on the network, but there are also future plans to tailor content to specific local channels on Zeam, and to create other synergies between Zeam, their local broadcast partners, MHTN, and mental health-focused organizations within local communities.
Troy McGuire and Kieran Clarke, two long time television executives inspired by their own experiences, founded Mental Health Television Network earlier this year alongside Dr. Daniel Bober, a distinguished psychiatrist who served as a mental health policy fellow in the U.S. Senate from 2007 to 2008, and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale Child Study Center. Mental Health Television Network is available in over 60 countries.
Since launching earlier this year, Zeam, with its moniker “Always Local, Always Free,” has established itself as the go-to destination for local content. Zeam currently features streams from over 300 local stations and has partnerships with such top local broadcast groups as Gray TV, CBS, News Press & Gazette, Morgan Murphy, and others.
