Investigation underway
Six victims required hospitalization. The cause of the illnesses is under investigation, but the FDA noted the product’s potential appeal to children due to its marketing as candy. Nootropics, a term used to market unapproved cognitive enhancers, are a key ingredient in the chocolate.
Make sure your children know the risks
The FDA urges parents to discuss the risks with children and avoid the product. The last reported illness occurred on June 3, with victims in Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
