October 22, 2024 | Orlando, FL – Men’s X Mental (MXM), a non-profit organization committed to breaking the stigmas surrounding men’s mental health, is proud to announce its partnership with Mental Health Television Network (MHTN). This collaboration unites two organizations with a shared vision: changing how the world thinks about and approaches mental health, especially for male athletes, by raising awareness, creating educational content, and fostering open, honest conversations.
The partnership is set to bring Men’s X Mental’s impactful storytelling, authenticity, and advocacy to MHTN’s extensive platform which is streamed in over 61 countries worldwide. As both organizations work to increase the visibility and transparency of mental health issues, this collaboration aims to reach a global audience, focusing on real stories from male athletes who have struggled personally, proving that ‘it is okay to not be okay.’
“At MXM, we have always believed in the power of conversation to break down walls and eliminate the stigma(s) around mental health, particularly among male athletes,” said Teddy Sourlis, CEO & Founder of Men’s X Mental. “Partnering with MHTN is a complete game-changer for us, as it allows our message to reach a global audience, connecting with men who ubiquitously need to hear that they are NOT fighting these battles alone.”
Through this digital alliance, Teddy Sourlis, MXM team members & athletes will make bi-monthly appearances on MHTN’s network, discussing various mental health subjects, sharing success stories from MXM’s initiatives, and offering actionable insights into how communities and athletes can better support one another. By streaming MXM’s events, such as sponsored sports showcases, panels, town halls, conferences, and workshops, MHTN will extend the reach of these vital conversations to audiences across the globe who may not otherwise have access to such uniquely critical & transformative moments.
Men’s X Mental has been at the forefront of raising awareness and advocating for men’s mental health, engaging with over 35 million people through social media, in-person events, and creative campaigns over the last 18 months. The organization’s mantra, “Don’t Man Up, Speak Up,” encourages male athletes and men everywhere to break their silence and seek support. With the partnership of MHTN, this message is poised to reach new heights, inspiring men globally to engage in conversations that can save lives.
The Mental Health Television Network, known for offering impactful discussions, expert insights, and inspiring stories, continues its mission to educate and support mental health for all, regardless of geography, gender, or age. With MXM on board, the network is adding a crucial, new voice to the conversation around male athletes’ mental health, illuminating and exemplifying that one’s well-being is essential both on and off the field.
MHTN CEO, Kieran Clarke, says, “We love the incredible work MXM is doing with male athletes as they are all part of the MHTN audience. Launched just this past March, Mental Health Television Network (MHTN.org) is already making waves as a mental health streaming television startup globally. With distribution partnerships secured with major platforms like NETGEM and LG+, MHTN reaches over a million monthly viewers across the globe. Our U.S. and Canada expansion is just the beginning! As we approach our season 2, MHTN is poised for continued growth as the growing mental health epidemic continues. Our vital content and answers are what is needed for this (ignored) audience.”
